The Granaro Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Rosso is produced in Pianella, in Contrada Granaro, where the vines grow on calcareous soils and are trained using the traditional Abruzzese pergola system. The winemaking process includes a 14‑day fermentation and maceration in temperature‑controlled stainless‑steel tanks, followed by the completion of fermentation and ageing in steel until bottling, which takes place in the spring after the harvest. This approach preserves the integrity and freshness of the Montepulciano grape.
In the glass, it offers an intense bouquet with a subtle hint of black cherry. On the palate it is balanced and enjoyable, with a soft, velvety tannic structure and a long, satisfying aromatic persistence. It pairs beautifully with hearty dishes such as maccheroni alla chitarra with sheep ragù, mustard‑crusted fillet, or beef medallions with brandy.
Made from 100% Montepulciano grapes, it has an alcohol content of 13% vol and comes in a 75 cl bottle. Contains sulfites. Bottled at the source by Società Agricola Chiarieri in Pianella, Abruzzo.
