CONSORTIUM FOR THE PROTECTION OF ABRUZZOS WINES
The Consortium Tutela Vini dAbruzzo (Consortium for the Protection of Abruzzos Wines) is a non-profit making body of a cooperative and voluntary nature which has been entrusted by its members (grape growers, wine producers and authorized bottlers) who aim at guaranteeing, with protected denominations, the wines they produce and their roles. According to the law of November 21st, 2003, the Ministry Of The Agricultural Policies and Forestry (MiPAF) allowed The Consortium Tutela Vini dAbruzzo (Consortium for the Protection of Abruzzos Wines) to carry out any necessary action and activity to protect and give value to the Abruzzo wines DOC Montepulciano dAbruzzo and Trebbiano dAbruzzo. In addition, the Consortium gives advice to the Abruzzo Region and the Chamber of Commerce in the su-bjects of : 1. the keeping of a vineyard register 2. the summary of the vineyards 3. the grapes and wines production declarations 4. the Government stamps distribution 5. Anything else concerning the denomination of wines pertaining to the above mentioned public bodies. As well as these duties, the Consortium elaborates proposals for rules regarding the respective DOCG; DOC, IGT. It also organizes and coordinates the activities of the operators involved in wine production and the marketing of each denomination in order to protect and give them value. It is understood that the different duties of the Consortium are always pursued with great determination by its member grape growers, wine producers and authorized bottlers, who have always produced their wines with passion and commitment looking after the process of wine making accurately, from the care for vineyards and for wine ageing to the care for the consumers needs. |
